When Cute Little Ghosts Meet Bleeding-Edge Decentralized Financial Technology: A New Era Begins!

No, my friends, in a matter of days (or weeks, or months, but not too long!) decentralized finance and cute ghosts will meet. No longer will the great divide between cute ghost collectors and financial geniuses exist, for AAVEGOTCHI has entered the ring.

Expanding on the already wonderful Aave protocol, Aavegotchi combines non-fungible cryptographic tokens (also known, in this context, as “cute little ghost thingies”… Or NFT’s, that too.) with interest-bearing Aave aTokens. But how? HOW is this possible? HOW can such a divide finally be bridged?

Just kidding! There’s a lot to how Aavegotchi works, but in a nutshell, it allows you to stake your aTokens on a virtual, non-fungible avatar called an Aavegotchi (recall: “cute little ghost thingies”). Before we get into exactly what you can do with all those Aavegotchis, let me quickly explain how they even come into existence.

You see, in their natural state, Aavegotchis roam the Nether realm. The only way to bring them into the Ether realm is through portals!

Portals have an initial cost (denominated in the ecosystem’s currency, GHST, which you can EARN by the way! Each portal temporarily bridges the gap between worlds and allows you, the user, to select one of 10 Aavegotchis to keep. Choose wisely! Aavegotchis all have random attributes and needed collateral, and once you make your choice the other 9 vanish back into the nether… Forever (probably).

So, now, that’s great and all, but what can you do with them?

Well, your cute little ghost thingy can play games! There’s going to be a whole lot of minigames for your little Gotchi to participate in across the realm. Furthermore, you’ll even be able to compete against your fellow ghosts and earn GHST rewards!

On top of all that, your little Aavegotchi can even wear clothes, which in turn are also non-fungible tokens! An NFT on NFT’s? What sorcery is this…

So there you have it, there’s going to be an entire world out there for you and your ghost pal to explore! So, hang on tight, because gaming’s about to be revolutionized.
